Annual Dinner, Friday November 10

The CEA Annual Dinner will be held on Friday November 10 from 7:00pm (for 7:30) at University House at the University of Melbourne.

Come along and meet the committee and celebrate the end of Year 12 Chemistry.

Cost $70 including a 3 course meal and drinks.

Ken Mappin Prize for a beginning teacher of chemistry

Nominations are open for the Ken Mapping prize for the best commencing teacher of chemistry. Nominees must be final year students in an education degree undertaking a chemistry method. More information is available here

Resources for VCE Chemistry

The VCE Chemistry page has updated information from the VCAA and many resources for teachers including:

  • Exam information including answers to the VCAA sample exam
  • suggested timetables for Units 1 - 4
  • suggested practical activities
  • suggested questions to set students from the Pearson Heinemann Chemistry 1 and Chemistry 2 text books
  • copies of workshops from the 2016 Chemistry Conference and the CEA November Lectures workshops 2015 and 2016, with new material, ideas for the practical investigations, possible new SACs and pracs.

 

Early Careers Chemistry Network

The ECCN supports early career chemistry teachers through collaborative activities and sessions on class planning and assessment. The ECCN hold regular meetings and a vibrant Facebook Group.
