Peter Tregloan

Peter is a Principal Fellow and Associate Professor in Chemistry at the University of Melbourne and Professorial Fellow in the Centre for Educational Innovation and Technology at the University of Queensland. He has held positions as Chief Examiner in Chemistry for the Victorian Higher School Certificate, Associate Dean (IT and Multimedia) in the Faculty of Science and Chair of the Teaching and Learning (Multimedia and Education Technology) Committee of Academic Board at Melbourne.  Peter has always had an interest in teaching and learning in the tertiary and secondary sector. With a number of collaborators over many years, he developed ChemCAL Online, which has interactive tutorials, prelabs and test questions that support first year chemistry, and oversaw the design and implementation of the Learning Lab space and program that has replaced traditional tutorials in chemistry at Melbourne. Peter was involved in the development of a ChemCal version, now delivered to secondary schools. He was CEA Chemistry Educator of the Year in 2000 and received a National Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Students' Learning from the Australian Learning and Teaching Council in 2008.
